Today I’m back to my current project ‘Stealing A Dream’.
This is the scene where Haisma and Faziel travel the scorching desert to get to Karalin where a portal to Dreamland is located.
I always imagine the Foshmea desert to be massive, filled with endless sand dunes that stretch far beyond the horizons. Daytime is excruciatingly hot and night time freezing cold, an environment crazy enough to distort one’s mind and trump one’s spirit… which is exactly what happened to our two heroes *evil laugh*
Well, I’m trying to capture this in the illustration today. Isaia did a great job with the desert. I’m only responsible for those two black thingies in the middle there, ha. Well ok, a bit of the colours too.
“The sun singed like hot shears, sizzling through my layered clothes. Bright sand reflected the light and smouldered my eyes. My veil made a meagre shield against the constant sand-ridden wind. I neither knew when this torture would end. I started to wonder if we were riding in circles.”
Have a great day, all.
