Sorry I’ve been a tad slack with my blogging. Today I just want to share my latest project, yet again another collaboration with my good friend Isaia. This one we called ‘Hope’ because… well, because we just like it, okay? 🙂 And this sketch depicts a new beginning of a sort where things of the past remembered and better-yet-uncertain futures launched into. I drew her chasing a butterfly because I like the idea of us chasing our dreams. Always. Never stop to do so. But… who dreams of butterflies? I’ve no clue lol.
We had so much fun with this one because it kind of evolved by itself, as though each element of the sketch had a life of its own. I certainly hadn’t planned for my dancing girl to turn into a half-cyborg, and I think Isaia had not thought those grey lumps of mesh in his background would turn into two giant robots. But I so adore his giant robots, especially the sad-looking one on the left. So cute! They have so much character I want to hug them both 🙂
We also tried a new style, keeping the lines in so it looks more like a cartoon than our usual smudged paint style. I do love how it turned out. It took us a total of 18 hours and 30,225 brush strokes, but all worth it in the end!
Anyway, I thought I’d also share the process with you so you know what I mean by things evolving randomly.
Have a great weekend everyone. Happy creating and keep believing in yourself and never ever stop chasing your dreams!
