… is the most terrifying thing I ever have to do.
But I know these days all artists, writers, musicians, business owners–well, everyone really–will have to do it at some point in their lives.
I really admire those who can talk so casually–or even better, proudly and with beaming faces–about their work to other people. I just wish I could. I mean I could. Believe me, I’m always beaming inside, but on the outside I would be: “OMG! I can’t believe I just said I’m awesome! I’m so sorry! can I please take that back?”
Anyway, those who can ‘sell’ themselves and their work are really the awesome ones. They have the right attitude, I believe, because damn right, we all should be proud of our own creations! We should believe that other people may benefit from us and our awesomeness.
And really, if they don’t, it’s okay too! 🙂
I just read this very cool book called “The Flinch” by Julien Smith–which Glenn had been forcing me to read for the past few months now, and I’d ignored him. Hmm… I really should listen to my husband more, he could be wise sometimes. Ha! Anyway, this book talks about fighting your fears and turning them into means to get your dream. It even has assignments we have to do to get to the next level of mindset, that right attitude we need to adopt when dealing with real or imagined obstacles that come our way.
I don’t know what my dream may be. It certainly isn’t to sell my artwork. But I do want to… leave some traces in this world, to feel that I have inspired, touched, and done something good in my life. You know, so when I die, somebody will at least remember me. Oh no, it’s not morbid at all. If you’re reading this blog, I sure know you will remember me also while I live! 🙂
Okay, enough talking. Really, I just want to post this photo of me and Glenn wearing t-shirts with my prints on them. Sorry, I can’t afford good looking models and awesome photography to promote my stuff. That, or I’m just a lazy cheapskate.
Okay, maybe the second.
But if you think we look pretty cool (or even if not, haha), feel free click on the photo to visit my Redbubble shop. No obligations to do anything, but your visit, shares, likes and comments will be greatly appreciated.
Oh and follow me if you want. I will be adding more stuff to my collection later; or otherwise you can subscribe to this blog for my updates.
Thanks again, my peeps. Have a great day!
